The Story

For nearly five decades, Barbarossa Bar has been part of the harbour’s story. Growing with it, while staying true to what made it special from the beginning.

Barbarossa Bar has always been ahead.

1975

Barbarossa Bar first opened in 1975, when tourism in Paros was only just starting to open up to the world. It was the vision of Giorgos Chamilothoris, shaped by years of travelling, seeing different places, and understanding of how a bar should feel — not just how it should function.

Where It All Came Together

Set in the harbour of Naoussa, Barbarossa Bar quickly became more than just a bar. It became a place where the setting, the atmosphere and the feeling came together effortlessly. Something that felt natural, yet new for its time, and truly unforgettable.

The Idea

He spent years travelling, gathering ideas and influences from different places, gradually shaping them into something uniquely his own. This evolving vision soon became a defining point of reference in Naoussa itself, over time and beyond.

Barbarossa Bar moved to its current spot by the harbour, where it continues to evolve today under the direction of Nikos Chamilothoris.

Now

Today, it remains a steady point in Naoussa’s nightlife, still shaped by the same thinking that defined it from the beginning.

A NAME THAT STILL CARRIES ITS HISTORY

Behind The Name

Naoussa has always been a place people passed through.

A harbour at the heart of the Aegean, with boats anchoring, people arriving and leaving, and different worlds crossing paths over time.

Sailors, traders and even pirates were part of that history.

The name Barbarossa comes directly from the maritime history of Naoussa’s harbour. It reflects a place shaped by movement, exchange and constant change.

Over time, the name moved beyond its origins. It became associated with something more current. A place that keeps evolving, that stays relevant, that doesn’t stand still.

That is what Barbarossa Bar stands for today.

EVENTS

Some nights are better shared

Barbarossa Bar has always been a place where people come together. Pre-wedding evenings, private birthdays, reunions, bachelor celebrations — over the years the bar has seen them all, each one different from the last. What doesn’t change is the setting, the drinks and a team that makes sure everything feels easy from the start. Whatever you’re planning, there’s room for it here.
